What is Hydrocodone?
Hydrocodone is an opioid pain medication and cough suppressant used to treat moderate to severe pain. It can be taken as a single dose or in combination with other drugs. It acts as a pain reliever and sedative, but has some addictive qualities. Hydrocodone works by providing relief from coughs, helping to ease feelings of phlegm build-up in the lungs. It may also relieve the feeling of discomfort felt by those with colds, bronchitis, asthma, or COPD symptoms. Some people who use hydrocodone may develop physical dependence on it over time.
